UPDATE: Nearly ready! We are just adding the final touches to the bedroom and we will be ready to open Havilah’s doors. Havilah is a truly special house and we have been nurturing it back to its former glory over the past 12 months. We have made extensive changes to the property and have hopefully improved it a little. We have a new roof, new windows, new heating and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, amongst other things.

Havilah was built in 1937 for the local Ursell family. The Ursell family were, and still are, stonemasons. Interestingly, whilst digging-up various parts of the garden we have unearthed many cut pieces of granite, which we suspect is left-over stone from their erstwhile endeavours while making headstones and graves for the now departed people of Ross-on-Wye.

Havilah is situated on the banks of River Wye in the splendid market town of Ross-on-Wye, which is famed for its walks, fishing, independent shops and its people – amongst other things. Ross has many characters amongst its congregation and I’m sure you’ll bump into a few if you partake (during your stay) in a few beverages at any of the local pubs and eateries – we can recommend the places to go and where you’ll enjoy good food, good drink, friendly people and good banter!

We are very friendly and laid back here at Havilah – we’ll give you the space if you need it and we can advise as to what to do and what to see whilst you’re staying with us. We have children and your children are very welcome too. We have a den, goalposts and plenty of toys to keep your children entertained.

Please take a look at our Facebook (@HavilahHouse1) and Twitter (@HavilahHouse) profiles – links are on this page. I update both of these on a regular basis with new photographs and updates.
